Meeting Overview

“Appreciative Practices for Organizational Development” is a program designed specifically for the ODN of WNY. Grounded in the theory and practice of Appreciative Inquiry (AI), it is “the study of what gives life to organizations when they are at their best.”

We will apply this proven strength-based approach in a simulation that is focused on ways to enhance connections within our organization, the OD Network.

The session will follow the stages of AI: Discovery, Dream, Design, and Destiny, using selected activities to bring out the best of the Network. Conversations will also introduce the essential principles of AI, as well as applications for organizational development, leadership, planning, and change.

Program Benefits

Upon successful completion of this program, participants will:

  • Have a basic understanding of AI, its principles, and its application to their workplaces
  • Experience the stages of AI, as well as appropriate activities
  • Be aware of the opportunities of this approach to the practice of organizational development, leadership, planning and change
